Is your child’s science education missing a human and hands-on element?  Horne Lake Caves Park is offering exclusive private tours to home schoolers and small groups delivered in a wild classroom by passionate guides.

  • small group only (max. 7 cavers plus guide per group)
  • up to 3 groups at a time (max 21 cavers)
  • each group of 7 can consist of 3 separate family or group “pods” (cohorts)
  • common areas, park trails and cave routes have been modified to allow 2m. physical distancing between park staff and each “pod”
  • cavers must pass a health pre-screening inc. taking temperature prior to tour
  • must sani hands and wear a face mask prior at all times in the caves

The Setting

Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park is a hidden gem nestled in the Beaufort Range mountains of central Vancouver Island. This unique park offers students a fascinating 3D look at Vancouver Island and its geology, both above and below. Programs are designed as hands-on, experiential learning that supports school curriculum and gives students a great day outside. An excellent venue for exploring and learning about nature while creating deep connections to ourselves and our surroundings.
