During the pandemic and to maximize staff safety, this provincial park is operating under strict Covid Protocols.  Staff must agree to follow the Covid Safety Plan which includes wearing a mask, frequent sanitizing and keeping physical distance from park visitors and other staff, as well as signing a “Social Responsibility Contract” and a “Campsite Occupancy Agreement”.

Cave Guide / Park Facility Operator

Full time June to Sept.

Safely lead groups on interpretive cave tours in the park. Guides will receive the training to run cave-geology programs and teambuilding activities with an emphasis on habitat and environmental protection / restoration.  In addition to guiding, Park Facility Operator duties include enforcing the Park Act and involvement in a wide spectrum of park maintenance tasks. Applicants must possess a minimum OFA Level 1 + CPR first aid certification and the ability to confidently provide first aid / emergency response in-cave if required. Must also provide a clean Criminal Records Check (Vulnerable Sector CRC), a valid driver’s license and should have own transportation. The successful candidates must pass our BC Cave Guide Certification Course prior to leading tours.

Visitor Centre / Reservations

Full time June to Sept.

Operate the provincial park Visitor Centre and Canada’s only Cave Theater.  Greet and inform park visitors about Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park and surrounding area.  Collect payment for tours, equipment rentals, retail sales, and record park stats. Conduct Covid Health Pre-screening checks along with frequent cleaning and sanitizations.  Liaison with BC Parks, guiding staff, and management. May perform some minor park maintenance and Park Act enforcement. Must possess a minimum OFA Level 1 + CPR First Aid Certificate and a clean Criminal Records Check (CRC).  Should also have valid driver’s license and own transportation.
