Horne Lake Regional Park Campground

Located on a crystal clear lake this Regional Park offers lakefront and wooded campsites for tents and RV's. An excellent Base Camp where you can relax on the beach or fill your days with adventures paddling the lake, on the trails and exploring caves or rock climbing at nearby parks. The Horne Lake Outdoor Center is an award-winning outdoor education facility operating within the park that offers school and group activities, Youth Summer Camps, fabulous family retreats and teepee camping. In keeping with the rustic them of this beautiful campground, there are no hook-ups or showers onsite; please come prepared.

Daily Visitor Programs -Summer 2008
Come out and enjoy some fascinating and fun programs running every day during Summer. Naturalist guides conduct a range of family activities from guided canoe paddles to basic rock rappelling and cave exploring. Fun and educational, these programs are excellent for children age 6 and up. Meet at the Campground Office, located at the Regional Park main entrance. Summer Programs and Schedule

Rock Rappelling Session- 9am to 11am
Cost: $34 children 6 to 12 / $40 adults

Easy beginner introductions to rock rappelling. Get experience on natural rock with this 2 hour session that teaches basic skills in vertical rappels. Excellent beginner training for the "Extreme Rappel Cave Tour" or those wanting to expand their skills from indoor climbing gyms. Price includes one-on-one instruction and all climbing equipment.

Horne Lake Amazing Race- 7pm to 8pm 
Cost: $10 / person                                            

A fun and exciting race similar to the television series but done in Horne Lake Outdoor style! Groups move from station to station solving problems and pitting themselves against the  elements. Minimum 4 participants. 

Evening Canoe Paddle - 7pm to 8pm
Cost: $12 children 6 to 12 / $15 adults 

A sweet sunset paddle to Turtle Back Island with canoe and equipment included. A fun and easy way to learn good paddling techniques on this short, 2 hour paddle. Water Safety training is beneficial for families that spend time on the water. Certified canoe instructors make it fun and easy to help you paddle with smooth, confident strokes. Proper entry / exits, steering, and loading your craft are demonstrated as well as what to do if something goes wrong.

Need some free time? Experience our Triple Cave Adventure at night and save $5 per person! We invite you to explore Horne Lake Caves Provincial Park in the heart of Vancouver Island. This tour is great for anyone 8 years or older. Climb into the ceiling galleries, explore underground streams, and see beautiful crystals and fossils on this action packed adventure!
